Chelsea are reportedly willing to make another big money offer for a midfielder, this time Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.

The Blues have previously been interested in a move for the 21-year-old, with Arsenal also said to be keen.

Caicedo was linked with a January move to Stamford Bridge, but Chelsea went on to sign Enzo Fernandez for around £106.8million.

The west London side are set to sign two new midfielders in the summer to join the Argentine in the middle of the park.

One of those could be Caicedo, with Spanish outlet Fichajes reporting that are looking to pay around £70million for his services.

The Ecuadorian international has featured 48 times for Brighton since he arrived at the club in 2021.

Most of his appearances have come this season, with his efforts contributing to the Seagulls’ impressive campaign.

Arsenal saw their £70m offer rejected by Brighton in January, with Caicedo taking to social media to say he wanted to leave.

However, he eventually signed a new long-term deal at the club, which he said ‘wasn’t a hard decision’ to make.

Interest is set to return in the summer though, with Chelsea looking to continue their heavy spending.

They could turn their attention to another Brighton star in Alexis Mac Allister, although he has also been linked with Liverpool.

Former academy prospect and now West Ham captain Declan Rice is also a target for Chelsea, with the 24-year-old valued at over £100m.

The Blues are also set to bring in a new goalkeeper and striker when the market reopens at the end of the season.

Argentine duo Emiliano and Lautaro Martinez are said to be targeted by incoming boss and fellow countryman Mauricio Pochettino.

The former Tottenham manager will be the club’s next permanent appointment following Graham Potter’s departure in April.

Chelsea have spent close to £600m on new players since the arrival of the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital ownership last year, with their expenditure set to increase even further.

It will be a summer of change for the west London side once again as they look to improve upon their dismal campaign.
