Palace want to bring Hall to Selhurst Park on loan for the 2023-24 Premier League campaign.
While Chelsea have not yet made final a decision on Palace’s interest in a loan, they do not want to take any risks with losing the youngster permanently.
Hall was under contract until 2025 but his reported one-year extension takes it to 2026 and Chelsea still plan to offer him a longer contract once the window closes.
The 18-year-old is highly rated and can play in several positions including left-back and can also be deployed as a left-sided midfielder or central midfielder.
Hall had somewhat of a breakthrough season at Chelsea last season, making nine Premier League appearances and starting the Blues’ last four top-flight games.
He came through the Chelsea academy and recently earned his first cap for England U21s.
Palace have had success with Chelsea loanees in the past, most notably with Conor Gallagher in 2021/22.
The south London club finished 11th in the Premier League last season, finishing above Chelsea, who endured an abysmal 2022-23 campaign and ended up 12th.
With Chelsea unable to secure European qualification, there is less fixtures and less opportunities for players lower down in the pecking order, meaning a loan for Hall is likely if the Blues cannot guarantee him regular playing time.
