China to offer visa-free travel
In a bid to boost post-pandemic tourism in the country, China has revealed that it will temporarily exempt citizens from six nations from needing visas when they visit the country.

According to IOL, From 1 December 2023 to 30 November 2024, tourists from these six countries who enter China for either business, tourism, family and friend visits, or are transiting for no more than 15 days, will not require a visa upon entry.

The six countries who will be able to enter China visa-free include:
- France,
- Germany,
- Italy,
- the Netherlands,
- Spain, and
- Malaysia.
South Africa, unfortunately, did not make the list.

Shenzhen to Johannesburg: More flights on offer
South African’s travelling to China can, however, enjoy more flight frequencies to the East Asian country, now that Air China has increased its flight frequencies from Shenzhen to Johannesburg, South Africa, from once weekly to three-times weekly.

Back in April this yearm Air China GM for South Africa, Joe Hu, said that there was an increased demand for the flights to South Africa, particularly because more than 200 Chinese companies are based in the country.
“We are happy to be able to increase our frequencies to South Africa again after COVID and will look at expanding our services to other cities in China based on demand.” Hu said.
