Chloe Fineman has poked fun at Lily-Rose Depp in The Idol

Laughter is the best medicine – and this applies to the high stakes of Hollywood performances. The entertainment world’s most talked-about TV shows right now is The Idol, created by Euphoria‘s Sam Levinson and starring The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp and premiered at Cannes Film Festival.

Lily-Rose plays an aspiring pop star named Jocelyn who gets involved in an affair with The Weeknd’s character Tedros.

In a twist of comedy, Saturday Night Live star Chloe Fineman has taken on Lily-Rose Depp’s performance and… completely and utterly mocked it. In the video, she has donned a black lacy bra, wearing it backwards, and is smoking multiple slim cigarettes at once.

“I met this guy last night, his name is Tedros. He was like dressed in a bat cape, but I think he’s gonna like change my career,” Chloe says, referring to The Weeknd’s character.

She pokes fun at a specific line in the first episode of The Idol, where Tedros tells Jocelyn to ‘sing like you can f**k’. We’re wondering if this line is a full on ick?

We even see a rendition of Cher’s legendary track Believe, with the comedian adding: “music should be like poly or bi. Music shouldn’t have a gender, it just f***s, you know.”

Chloe also does a rendition of Natasha Bedingfield’s anthem Pocket Full Of Sunshine, before asking: “Does my song f**k? Like, music should f**k.” It’s messy AF and hilarious, as all comedy should be.

“My audition for THE IDOL (must have got lost in the mail) @TheIdol (@lilyrose_depp is a GODDESS of talent),” Chloe captioned her video.

Clearly not taking herself too seriously and enjoying Chloe’s take on her performance, Lily-Rose has come back loving the video, commenting: “I’m loling….. and ur makeup looks bomb”.

We could have a true gal pal connection on our hands, with Chloe responding: “Obsessed with you” with two heart emojis. To be honest, we love any story that ends without two women being pitted against each other – so 10/10 here, ladies.

However, while Lily-Rose has also received praise in reviews for her acting, The Idol has been more widely criticised for its misogynistic take on women and their bodies.

Accusations have even come from inside the show itself. An unnamed member of the production team for the show described Sam Levinson’s vision for The Idol as “like any rape fantasy that any toxic man would have in the show”.
