Chris Noth has been edited out of the season finale of And Just Like That amid several accusations of abuse against the actor.

On 5 January, TV Line reported that Chris Noth’s cameo in the Sex and The City reboot’s finale had been scrapped, with Variety later confirming the news.

Noth was famous for playing Mr Big, Carrie’s long-term love interest in SATC. Fans were shocked when his character died in the first episode of HBO’s And Just Like That, after suffering a heart attack while riding a Peloton bike.

According to TV Line, the season finale of And Just Like That originally included Carrie going to Paris’ Pont des Arts bridge to scatter Mr Big’s ashes into the Seine river, including a fantasy element when he appears to Carrie.

However, the “creative team ultimately decided that the minimal footage Noth had shot with Parker on location in Paris was not integral to the scene, which is about Carrie finding closure via the spreading of Big’s ashes.” TV line also notes that an insider reported that “the finale was not locked at the time that the allegations against Noth were made public.”

An HBO Max spokesperson declined to comment to TV Line.

In December 2021, four women accused Noth of sexual assault, including rape.

The actor denied the first two accusations in December, releasing the following statement:

“The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”

In response to the allegations, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis took to their Instagram stories to share a statement in support of the alleged victims.

The statement read, “We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth. We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences.

“We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”
