The Washington Wizards moved quickly to find Chris Paul a new home after they traded Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns.
The Wizards knew Paul didn’t want to play on a rebuilding team so they sent him to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday in exchange for Jordan Poole, a protected 2030 first-round pick, and a 2027 second-round pick.
After the trade was agreed to, Paul said to the media that he was excited about the opportunity to play for the Warriors.
“I’m excited,” Paul said. “I’m really excited.
Paul then confirmed that he spoke with Steph Curry right after the trade was agreed to and that the conversation went well.

This could be one of Paul’s last attempts at winning a championship since he’s already 38 years old.
A title has alluded him throughout his playing career but now, he’ll get to team up with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson to help bring another championship back to the Bay Area.
