
Chris Paul still wants to play for the Phoenix Suns next season even though he’s likely going to be waived.
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Paul continues to say that he wants to return to Phoenix so he can team up with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant. He may not get his wish, but that’s what he wants for next season.
Paul continues to want to return to Suns and partner with Booker and Durant, sources said. Nevertheless, Paul and his reps want organization to make a decision well ahead of June 28th deadline to guarantee his deal so that Paul can proceed into marketplace if he’s indeed waived.

This report comes after Chris Haynes reported that the Suns had told Paul that he would be waived.

If he does get waived before the June. 28 deadline, he’ll be guaranteed $15.8 million of his $30.8 million contract.
Paul is a 12-time All-Star who is still searching for his first NBA title. He finished this past season averaging 14 points, nine assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game.
It was his third season with them after spending the 2019-20 season with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
