Christmas in July? You can now buy tickets to these holiday attractions in Colorado

Colorado may be experiencing sweltering summer temperatures, but that’s not stopping some from dreaming of a white Christmas.

This week, two holiday-themed attractions announced details of their openings in Aurora, Denver and Colorado Springs. Here’s the skinny on what’s to come from the Gaylord Rockies’ ICE! exhibit and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” theater production, both of which you can soon buy tickets for.

ICE! at Gaylord Rockies

Be careful or you’ll shoot your eye out at the Gaylord Rockies ICE! exhibit this year, the theme for which is “A Christmas Story.” Using more than two million pounds of ice, sculptors from Harbin, China will recreate scenes and characters from the beloved movie and build a life-size winter wonderland that places guests into the narrative. Ice carvers equipped with handsaws, chisels, chippers and chainsaws will work for six weeks to craft the 17,000-square-foot attraction, which includes interactive elements like ice slides and sculptures as tall as 30 feet. The exhibit stays at 9 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure everything remains frozen. Guests who visit don a blue parka to stay warm in the chilly environment.

While ICE! is the Gaylord’s signature holiday attraction, the resort in Aurora will also host themed Cirque performances, a Naughty or Nice Escape Room, gingerbread house decorating, visits with Santa and more.

ICE! runs Nov. 17 through Jan. 1, 2024. Tickets range $29.99 to $35.99 for adults and $19.99 to $24.99 for children ages 4 to 11. They’re now at christmasatgaylordrockies.marriott.com.

A Charlie Brown Christmas Live On Stage

The Peanuts gang including Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus and Lucy will travel to the Front Range to celebrate the season with multiple theater performances of this holiday classic. Billed as a “fresh take” on the timeless Christmas story, the production features live actors who maintain the spirit of each character while adding more detail to the story’s plot. Fans of Vince Guaraldi’s iconic musical score will be pleased to hear the show’s beloved tunes true to form.

A Charlie Brown Christmas Live On Stage comes first to the Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs on Nov. 13 before traveling to Paramount Theatre in Denver on Nov. 14 and 15. Tickets for shows at both locations go on sale to the general public on July 28 at 10 a.m. via axs.com and ticketmaster.com, respectively.
