If you’re looking for something to celebrate this weekend, join Ciara and revere the posterior.
The singer and new Denverite returned with new music Friday and her single, entitled “JUMP,” is a booty bouncing blowout with enough jiggle and shake to carry you through to football season. (Ciara, wife to quarterback Russell Wilson, literally opens the video in a blue and orange cheer uniform, so we can only assume that’s a Denver Broncos reference.)
“This moment is special for so many reasons… just considering the timing of where we’ve all been in this world, this time of creativity for me,” Ciara said ahead of a live premiere of the music video on YouTube Friday morning. “I just want to make this world dance. That’s really important to me, that’s really my goal – to make the world dance and have the best time possible when listening to this song.”
Ciara said this is the most work she’s ever put into a video, and it shows. She jumps between scenes and outfits at lightning speed, donning no less than 14 different looks, some of which harken to other female artists like Janet Jackson. The whole thing came together in just four days, she said.
“I literally drove my glam team crazy… but it was a dream come true for our whole creative team,” Ciara said.
Ciara set social media on fire when she initially teased the song with a video in which she and a few of her dancers twerked on top of a Ford Bronco at a gas station. It wasn’t the dancing so much that caught people’s attention as it was the prices – $6.69 for unleaded?! – listed in the background.

Ciara called dance a universal language and, girl, today we are talking. Make that rump jump!
