Citadel is the new sci-fi espionage drama starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden that will get your adrenaline pumping

Citadel is the new sci-fi spy drama that everyone is talking about, and for good enough reason.

Developed by Captain America and Avengers’ Russo brothers, the upcoming espionage Prime Video series stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden as agents Nadia Sinh and Mason Kane, who join forces to save the world. But if you think it’s just any other run-of-the-mill spy series, it isn’t. This show is also set to include spin-offs in different countries and languages. Amazon explained this decision: “All of the local series are meant to enhance the entire entertainment experience and will be available for the viewer to deep dive into an imagined layered world.” Ooo, if we weren’t intrigued already, we definitely are now!

While Citadel was shrouded in secrecy for a long time, the promotional trail for the show has kicked off in style, with a slick 007-style trailer to the tune of Eurythmics’ Sweet Dreams, and we’re honestly so pumped. What is the plot of Citadel?

Citadel, which was once an independent intelligence agency owing no loyalty to no country on Earth and only dedicated to the safety of people everywhere, was destroyed by a powerful syndicate, Manticore, eight years before the series begins. At the time, two agents had their minds wiped and took on new cover identities so that Manticore couldn’t harm them any longer. Years later when one of the former agents, Mason Kane (Richard Madeley), decides to stop Manticore from taking over the world and, in doing so, reactivates another former Citadel operative Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas). While attempting to save the world, they must also figure out who they once were in their previous life.
