Citroen launched the new C3 hatchback in India last year. It is presented in two variant of Live and Feel. At the time of launch in July 2022, the prices of C3 ranged from Rs 5.71 lakh to Rs 8.05 lakh, ex-sh. After about 9 months, prices of Citroen C3 in March 2023 start from Rs 6.16 lakh, ex-sh. This means the base variant has gotten expensive by Rs 45k in 9 months.

Citroen has given C3 its 2nd price hike this year. First price hike came in Jan 2023. At that time, prices were increased by up to Rs 27,500. This time around, the prices have been increased by Rs 18,000. Surprisingly, turbo variant prices have not been increased. Base Citroen C3 Live now costs Rs 6.16 lakh while Feel Vibe DT costs Rs 7.38 lakh. The turbo C3 Feel DT Vibe pack continues to be on sale at Rs 8.25 lakh. All prices are ex-sh.

Offered in four monotone and six dual tone colour options, the Citroen C3 is seen in Polar White, Zesty Orange, Platinum Grey, and Steel Grey. Dual tone options on the other hand are Zesty Orange roof in Polar White/Platinum Grey/Steel Grey body colours and Platinum Grey roof in Polar White/Zesty Orange/Steel Grey body colours. It gets LED lighting all round, a chrome finished front grille, extended wheel arches and 14/15 inch steel wheels.

The interiors see colour schemes of Anodized Orange and Anodized Grey while as per variant, features also include 10.2 inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, chrome finished inner door handles and steering mounted controls for both audio and phone. Safety features include dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors, high speed alert system, front seat belt reminder and ABS and EBD.

The monthly Citroen C3 sales have been a mixed bag. The good news is that the sales have seen a steady increase from June 2022 to September 2022, with an impressive spike of 1,354 units sold in September. The bad news is that the sales have been on a decline since then, hitting a low of just 111 units sold in February 2023.

The ugly truth is that the average monthly sales figure is just 732 units, which is a far cry from what the French carmaker would have hoped for. In conclusion, while there have been some highs, the overall sales figures have been underwhelming. C3 electric version was launched recently. It has reported sales of 111 units in Feb 2023.

Two Petrol Engine Options

Citroen C3 receives two petrol engine options. Puretech 82 1.2 liter, 3 cylinder NA engine offers 82 PS power at 5,750 rpm and 115 Nm torque at 3,750 rpm mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. The Puretech 110 1.2 liter turbo engine makes 110 PS power at 5,500 rpm and 190 Nm torque at 1,750 rpm mated to a 6 speed manual transmission.

Buyers can also opt for a monthly installment payment scheme that starts off from Rs 11,999 while the company offers 2 years/40,000 km warranty, 24×7 roadside assistance and extended warranty and maintenance packs to its customers. Based on the C3, Citroen will soon launch a 7 seater version.
