Classic love story born from 1920s swing dance session

Kate and Jake’s love story began just like a scene out of a classic 1920’s movie.

The lovebirds first crossed paths swing dancing at The Mustang Bar in October 2018, and the rest was history.

Jake made a romantic proposal in August 2021 and the pair, of course, took to the dance floor with an entertaining swing ensemble for their first dance.

The newlyweds danced to Smooth Sailing by Ella Fitzgerald and The Ray Charles Singers, which required an outfit change for the bride from her wedding dress into a chic, white jumpsuit.

When and where

The couple said “I do” at the Rose & Crown Hotel in Guildford, a venue with rustic charm for their intimate celebration with close family and friends, on 29 April this year.

Dress

Honeymoon

The newlyweds spent two nights at Crown Towers to unwind after their wedding day and plan to enjoy the Margaret River region for a belated honeymoon in July.
