Los Angeles Clippers forward Amir Coffey was reportedly arrested over the weekend after police say they found a loaded gun in his vehicle during a routine traffic stop.
According to TMZ Sports, law enforcement pulled over a car that Coffey was the passenger in around 2:30 AM for speeding.
Upon approaching the vehicle officers say they could smell marijuana, which led to a search that uncovered the weapon. Per the Hollywood outlet, Coffey admitted it was his and he was subsequently arrested for misdemeanor possession of a firearm.

The 26-year-old was booked around 5 AM and released roughly four hours later. He’s due in court later next month.
After going undrafted out of Minnesota, Coffey has spent all four of his NBA seasons with the Clippers where he’s appeared in 181 games as a rotational swingman.
Last year, Coffey averaged 3.4 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 12.5 minutes of action per game.
