It was an unusual sight, but the 23-year-old trailed in the popular game show’s early stages, entering the middle round $3,000 back of contestant Sarah Snider, a middle-school teacher from Fishers, Ind.
And the Canadian trailed by $9,600 entering Final Jeopardy!
Not to worry. Roach, originally from Nova Scotia, correctly answered the final clue — and more importantly, she wagered a hefty $12,999 — to walk away with $25,999 on the night.
Snider did not have a response for the final clue. She wagered $5,000 and finished with $17,600.
