Club Med Returns To Spain After A Twenty-Year Hiatus

Club Med has this week made its historic return to Spain. The Club Med Magna Marbella in the Andalusia region of Spain comes as the brand’s first Spanish resort opening in over twenty years.

“We are proud to return to Andalusia, one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Europe, with a new premium resort, Club Med Magna Marbella, which perfectly showcases what Club Med has become today after major changes in the last 20 years—a premium, ‘glocal’, happy digital brand aiming to develop a more sustainable tourism,” Henri Giscard d’Estaing, Club Med’s President and CEO shared during the resort’s opening ceremony.

The 4-Trident (4-star) family-friendly resort is located at the foot of the Sierra Blanca and features over thirty-five acres of gardens and terraces for guests to explore. The 485-room property boasts an indoor/outdoor concept that was designed to highlight the gorgeous Mediterranean landscape.

The property is a short distance from the city of Marbella but with two restaurants and three bars on site there’s more than enough Spanish flair and flavor to make a case for sticking close to the resort.

“With the opening of Club Med Magna Marbella, North American travelers can discover yet another authentic European destination from Club Med’s extensive international portfolio of premium sun and mountain resorts,” Carolyne Doyon, President and CEO of Club Med North America and the Caribbean shared.

“As demonstrated by this incredible opening in southern Spain, long-haul family travel to major European destinations can also be fun, seamless, and of course, all-inclusive.”
