Arcade Fire is officially performing at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, at least for Weekend 1.
A surprise appearance at the 2022 festival teased by the band on social media on Thursday morning was confirmed Thursday afternoon when set times and schedules were announced.
Arcade Fire was not previously on the announced lineup, so when fans saw a tweeted selfie from band member Win Butler saying he decided to spend his birthday at Coachella, the rumor mill took off about a possible performance.

The band will perform in the Mojave tent at 6:45 p.m. on Weekend 1. Weekend 2 set times and schedules have not been announced, nor has a follow-up performance been confirmed.
As for the Weekend 1 performance, fans were thrilled to learn about the news.
