Coachella 2023: Set times for Weekend 2 announced — with a new Sunday headliner

0

The set times for Weekend 2 of the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival have finally been announced and, yes, there are still some conflicts and now a new Sunday headliner.

The second weekend of Coachella kicks off at the Empire Polo Club in Indio on Friday, April 21 with Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny headlining. Saturday, April 22 is topped by K-pop group Blackpink and Sunday, April 23 now features Southern California pop punk band Blink-182, who were the surprise guest in the Sahara Tent during Weekend 1.

The foul-mouthed trio is replacing Long Beach R&B singer-songwriter Frank Ocean, who dropped out earlier this week due to an injury and following a disaster of a set that closed the event on April 16.

There’s also a TBA spot on the schedule this week following Blink’s turn at 10:25 p.m. According to Rolling Stone, Skrillex, Four Tet and Fred Again will serve as the official Sunday closer.

By and large the set times are noticeably earlier, especially the final few acts of each day in the Mojave and Sahara Tents. Across Gobi and Sonora Tents the first slots have been replaced with different acts.

Here are a few of the changes: Juicewon is off the schedule for Friday and has been replaced by Mimi at the Outdoor Theater. Popular DJ Uncle Waffle is playing 45 minutes later in the Sonora Tent on Friday. Gordo is still performing over in the Sahara Tent, but is no longer up against the Sunday headliner.
