Coast Guard searching for missing boy in Merrimack River; 4 people recovered

AMESBURY – The Coast Guard is searching for a missing 6-year-old boy in the Merrimack River.

Five people were reported in the water near the Whittier Bridge in Amesbury Thursday night. Four people have been recovered.

The search for the boy is ongoing.

The Coast Guard is being assisted by first responders from Amesbury, Newburyport, Salisbury and the Mass. State Police.
