St. Patrick’s Day is a day we often spend adding green food coloring to everything from our bagels to our beer. It’s a time of great fun and festive celebrations, and a big part of any celebration is a theme cocktail.

These cocktails may not make your day luckier, but they sure will add to the spirit of the celebration!

Lucky You

It is then topped with a dusting of chocolate powder. “Our guests really enjoy the classic espresso martini, so creating an Irish whisky version for St. Patrick’s Day is an excellent way to celebrate. “Lucky You” is the perfect pick-me-up to get the night started, or as a dessert to top off the evening,” said Lance Sigler, beverage director, Shift Kitchen & Cocktails.

The strawberry orgeat and lemon juice make this a crisp, flavorful drink, with a Jameson kick that creates the perfect St. Patrick’s Day sipper,” said Anne Hester, Bar Manager.

To Luck & Moher

At etta Culver City, this cocktail is made with Slane Irish Whisky, beer stout reduction, citrus bitters, luck. Says Amanda Fewster, Bar Manager of etta: “I’ve worked my fair share of east coast St Patrick’s day dive bar shifts. Morning to night, green beer, car bombs, all that. That style of drinking is just not very… LA. And honestly, not my bag either. So I decided to take some of the core elements of what Irish drinks are and put them into something a little more elevated; while also finding a way to use surplus stout so it doesn’t go to waste. By cooking down Guinness, adding brown sugar, citrus zest and a bit of spice you get a nice rich beer reduction that takes the place of the sweetener in a traditional old fashioned. Using Irish whiskey brings in the familiarity of the holiday and the citrus bitters brighten the drink to bang it all to balance. Plus, the Irish have some really great toasts, so we threw that in too for a good time. Slainte!”
