Colby Covington rants about Dustin Poirier’s “Jezebel” wife

Fresh off Saturday’s win over over Jorge Masvidal, UFC fighter Colby Covington is already moving on to his next opponent: Dustin Poirier.

In a post-fight interview at UFC 272, Covington fired the first shots at Poirier, taking aim at the MMA star’s family.

“I just took care of Miami street trash, now it’s time to take care of Louisiana swamp trash,” Covington said, according to bloodyelbow.com.

“Where you at Dustin Poirier?” he added. “You said it’s on site. Name the site, Dustin. Bring that Jezebel of a wife and bring that little kid, and I’ll see you soon. You’re next.”

In a press conference after Saturday night’s fight, UFC President Dana White said he “isn’t sure about matching Covington up with Poirier” and wants to first find out what direction Covington “wants to go in.”

Covington is the number one-ranked UFC welterweight, while Poirier competes in the lightweight division — and has already shown disinterest in a match-up with Covington.

Colby’s comments came after he reportedly called Poirier’s wife, Jolie, out for sleeping with Conor McGregor.

“It’s funny because it’s very ironic because he talks about being a family guy, a good guy but he wants to fight me in the streets and potentially go away from his family,” Covington said last week.

“So, Dustin Poirier has all these stipulations to fight me. I just have one stipulation. My one stipulation is he lets the world watch and enjoy themselves. You know Dustin, like you do with Conor when he’s in bed with your wife, Jolie.”

Last year, McGregor claimed that Poirier’s wife had sent him direct messages on social media.

Following her husband’s win over McGregor, Jolie infamously flipped off the Irish fighter.

“I’ll never fight Colby [Covington] in an Octagon where there’s finances on the line,” Poirier said. “If I fight Colby, we’re both going to jail — I’m going to jail. You will never see me fight Colby Covington in the UFC.”
