Former England footballer Wayne Rooney’s wife Coleen tried to settle her WAG row with Rebekah Vardy out of court not once, not twice, but three times. A settlement was attempted in May and October of 2020 as well as in January 2021.
Rebekah, 40, and Coleen, 36, are involved in a legal battle after the latter accused the former of leaking news via social media. The trial begins on May 9.
According to The Sun, in her witness statement, Coleen said: “I would like to highlight at the outset that I have sought to resolve this matter amicably on various occasions. I was of the view that the time, money, resources and efforts involved could be better spent elsewhere, particularly in light of the pandemic. However, the efforts I made . . . were all in vain.”
Coleen is of the opinion that the result of the week-long legal feud is not going to be of any help to both. “I have no doubt that this litigation, whatever the outcome, will benefit neither Becky or myself. Those attempts to compromise this dispute were not made due to any concern with the underlying merits or an absence of confidence in my position,” explained Coleen.
