The Miami Heat’s improbable playoff run ended with a gentleman’s sweep at the hands of the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals.

We’ll see what the Heat elect to do this offseason in an attempt to improve their odds of winning it all next season, but Colin Cowherd has already put forth a bold idea.

The FS1 personality wants Miami to trade for All-Star point guard Damian Lillard, calling the pairing between the Blazers star and the Heat organization the “perfect combination.”

The Heat are reportedly going to be “hunting for a star” this offseason to add to their core, which includes Jimmy Butler (signed through 2025 with a player option for 2025-26) and Bam Adebayo (signed through 2025-26).

Lillard, meanwhile, has been the subject of trade rumors for years now and recently called Miami the “obvious” choice if he were to be dealt.

“Miami, obviously,” Lillard said. “Miami is the obviously one, and Bam is my dawg – for real.”

Lillard will turn 33 next month. Injuries limited him to only 58 games with Portland this season, but he still averaged a career-high 32.2 points per game while adding 7.3 assists and shooting 37% from three-point range.
