Mrs Hinch – real name Sophie Hinchcliffe – rose to fame after she started to share unusual cleaning hacks online. Now with more than four million Instagram followers, fans of the cleaning guru regularly take to social media to share their own finds.

“Black Harpic is magic, you need to try to believe it,” added Brigitta Banyai.

Eliza Smith commented: “Put Black Harpic around the toilet and leave to sit for a while before scrubbing off, it comes straight off.”

Harpic Power Plus Max Toilet Cleaner Citrus claims to be 10 times better than bleach on limescale removal.

It is fast acting and can help to lift stubborn stains including under the toilet rim.

“I recently did this, works a treat,” said Abi Neill.

Other group members explained that the coin trick also works around taps and on shower heads.

Diane Jarratt said: “I use Viakal.”

Viakal claims to remove the toughest of limescale, soap scum and water marks from taps and showers.

The spray can be picked up for as little as 99p from supermarkets as well as stores like B&M and Home Bargains.
