Nation’s Giant Hamburgers in Concord has reopened for business after a nearly five-month closure for renovations.

The breakfast, burger and pie spot has been closed since February, as the eatery’s makeover has been taking place. New entry doors, windows, restrooms, dining room finishes, lighting and digital menu boards are among the changes that have been made, according to a press release.

The East Bay-focused restaurant chain has operated in Concord since 1977, with the last remodel taking place in 1996.

“We have served the Concord community for over four decades and have loved becoming a gathering place for celebrations, important conversations, date nights, best friend hangouts, post-shift fuel sessions and more,” says Nation’s Giant Hamburgers CEO Grant Power.

The restaurant specializes in hamburgers, sandwiches, shakes and pies, and currently offers seasonal strawberry tarts and cheesecakes on its menu.

Nations Giant Hamburgers started out in 1952 as a hot dog stand in San Pablo. It’s now in its 70th year and has 29 locations across Northern California.
