Irish welterweight Dylan Moran was once called out by Paul as the YouTuber attempted to get to McGregor, and he has now mocked his old rival after a training video posted on social media

Jake Paul talks Hollywood and MMA

Conor McGregor’s sparring partner Dylan Moran has joked he “doesn’t want it” from Jake Paul after watching his latest training footage.

The Irish welterweight is a close friend of McGregor’s having been drafted into his camp for UFC 257 when he faced Dustin Poirier in their rematch. At the time, the UFC legend was eyeing up a boxing return against Manny Pacquiao, and coach Philip Sutcliffe brought in a few boxers to mix up sparring with MMA fighters.

Ultimately, this led to Paul showing interest in Moran’s career, mocking the Waterford native for his sole professional loss to Dennis Okoth in the summer of 2019. The pair went back-and-forth on social media, but nothing came of the feud.

And it now seems that nothing ever will, with Moran tweeting after watching Paul hitting the reflex bag: “Well I don’t fancy it anymore after watching that.”

The Irishman launched a vicious tirade on Paul after he mocked McGregor for sparring with him, saying in a previous Instagram video: “Jake, I just watched your interview. You are one thick, ignorant fool. I don’t even know what to say about you.

“You’re an absolute disgrace to yourself, America. The best thing to happen over that way was Donald Trump. I hope he gets back into power and builds an even bigger wall to keep you and all your clowns behind it.

“Now Jake the last few weeks we’ve watched you online disrespecting fighters, good people, asking for fights, shouting offers. This is my offer to you. I’ll come to America today, tomorrow or any other day. Me and you go to the legendary Floyd Mayweather ’s gym and we’ll get in the ring – doghouse rules.

“Let’s see how that works out for you. I will rip your head off Jake. We are not the same. You make videos for a living, I fight. You’ve put it out there and everybody wants to see it, so we’re all waiting on your reply.”

Unfortunately for Moran, Paul has generally decided to fight people with the right combination of name value and less-than-stellar boxing skill. This would rule out the 16-1 professional boxer, who would be simultaneously Paul’s most difficult opponent and the least well-known.

Moran has, as a result of his increased notoriety, been signed to Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions, and is expected to return to the ring later this year. Paul is also looking to get back into action in the summer, declaring in the video Moran mocked that he would be back in August.

He explained what he is looking for in an opponent to Mirror Fighting , saying: “We’re talking to a lot of different people, a lot of big names. We need someone with that star power, a big name who can bring in a ton of pay-per-view buys to the table, all of my opponents I’ve carried the promotion and I’m looking for that big name. We need someone who can be a heavy hitter in the space.”
