No city does street style better than Copenhagen. There, we said it. Specifically, of course, during Copenhagen Fashion Week.
Sure, Paris and Milan play host to some pretty exceptional high-end designer looks outside their biannual runway showcases, New Yorkers have perfected the polished aesthetic, and London continues to be the home of creativity and electric eccentricity (not that we’re at all biased), but there’s something about the refreshing optimism of fashion in Copenhagen that is entirely unmatched anywhere else.
Having just wrapped its spring/summer 2023 showcase, we decided that it was only fair to indulge you in some of the most major street style moments that just happened in one of the key Scandi capitals.
Unlike previous seasons, the latest batch of street style stand-outs isn’t solely about blindingly-bright colour.
In fact, while there were some major (MAJOR!) dopamine dressing moments – there’s no overlooking those – the city this week welcomed a surprising influx of some particularly great neutral looks, harking back to the pre-pandemic sartorial heyday of tonal beiges. If Gen-Z owns the dopamine fashion space, we’re officially dubbing said neutrals Millennial minimalism.
Far from forming fashion tribes, however, Copenhagen Fashion Week saw several attendees getting equally involved in both trends; switching their neons for their neutrals in the space of just a few hours. And why shouldn’t they?
Essentially, this season the Copenhagen Fashion Week street style set proved that there’s no such thing as a ‘uniform’ when it comes to dressing for yourself.
