A mix of a balance diet and exercise is the best way to lose fat and reach a healthy weight – but one drink might make things even easier.
There is an easy-to-prepare, nutrient-filled drink that can help speed up digestion and tackle dangerous body fat, according to a one health expert.
The midsection of our bodies contain visceral – or hidden – fat, which is neither visible nor can be touched. Too much of this fat can increase the risk of chronic health conditions like heart disease and metabolic disorders.
However, the fat can be easily tackled with a two-ingredient green juice, according to wellness psychologist Ieva Kebiliute. Here’s what you need to know about it.

The expert claimed that coriander juice could help people who carry high amounts of visceral fat in their bodies. Coriander is known to have a wide range of medicinal activities which include anti-diabetic, antioxidant and anticancer functions.
They explained that a combination of coriander leaves, seeds, flowers and fruit are packed with high contents of antioxidants that can aid digestion and help tackle the fat.
Ieva Kubiliute said: “Coriander juice is popular for quick weight shedding. It works by increasing your metabolism, thus burning more calories at a faster frequency. You may not like its taste, but blending with lemon juice improves the flavour and gives more effect.”
What are the other health benefits of coriander?
A study published in the Journal of Agriculture & Biology investigated the effects of dietary supplementation with coriander seeds on visceral adipose tissue lipid storage in growing rats.
Rodents were fed either standard rat chow or chow supplemented with crushed coriander seeds. Researchers noted a big difference in the visceral fat among the rodents after weeks.

It was found that dietary supplementation with coriander increased the amount of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids in the visceral adipose tissue and also decreased the fatty acid content. Coriander also increased the omega 3: omega 6 ratios in the visceral adipose tissue.
Further research published in the Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances studied the effects of supplementation with coriander seeds.
This study confirmed the hypolipidemic and antioxidative function of the seed in quail which reduced abdominal fat deposition in the animal.
Previous studies have proven that coriander leaves boost metabolism by increasing the secretion of insulin, which helps manage blood sugar.
