Coronation Street fans predict downward spiral for Craig Tinker as Faye leaves

Since Faye’s (played by Ellie Leach) estranged daughter and former partner Jackson (Joseph Evans) returned to the cobbles, fans of the ITV soap have seen her reconnect with her ex.

Despite sharing a kiss and Jackson suggesting that she move to Slough with them, Faye remained adamant that she wanted to stay with Craig Tinker (Colson Smith).

However, it became clear her heart was elsewhere and she was only sticking with Craig over fears he’d report her to the police for the hit and run she was involved in last year that resulted in someone being killed.

On Wednesday’s episode, as Jackson and Miley (Frankie-Jae Simmonds) were getting ready to leave, Craig decided it was best if Faye goes with them.

Taking his advice, Coronation Street fans saw her leave with her new family, leaving Craig heartbroken.

Although people believe her exit is the start of Craig’s downfall with some suggesting he could now be convinced to go to the police in an act of revenge or even commit murder.

Beardybill1 asked: ”Is Craigie going to murder Faye?”

Dee_Cee95x commented: “Craig on his way to the police station now to dob Faye in because she left him.”

TweetieeTy added: “Craig will have a breakdown without this girl…”

JamieSummersTV fumed: “Craig giving Faye the option to stay or leave for a new life with Jackson and her kid. What a controlling monster! He’s just like Geoff!”

Floweroflondon tweeted: “Craig’s turning coercive.”

TweetieeTy said: “I feel like their almost turning Craig into a villain… Craig being a villain was not on my 2023 bingo card.”

Speaking about leaving the soap after 12 years, actress Ellie Leach confessed filming those final scenes was highly emotional.

She told The Mirror: “The saddest part is where she’s in the taxi and we just see Craig on his own walking down the street and she’s like stop the car, she gets out and says, ‘I’ll always love you, I always have and I always will’.

“I think it was just so emotional and you do see there’s two people here who do love each other, but there are so many other factors, love isn’t always enough and I think you can see that in that last scene.

“It was very emotional, Faye has been here for 12 years but I have too and this has been my life.”

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
