Corsages took over the Oscars 2023 red carpet as Hollywood’s hottest new accessory trend

If the Oscars 2023 has taught us anything on the style front, it’s that corsages are not just reserved for your average high school prom or your big wedding day but, in fact, the Hollywood red carpet. With stunning, glamorous gowns taking over the red carpet at the famous Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, a slew of stars decided to get on board with the overall throwback noughties trend and bring back another piece of accessory that we never thought would see its moment: corsages.

Yes, traditionally, corsages are usually placed on the wrist or pinned on the left side of your date’s outfit, but these stars have put their own spin on the now-fashion-forward accessory. I mean, just take a look at Nicole Kidman, who kept things demure and sophisticated in a black sequinned Armani Prive gown that featured an oversized silver corsage on her shoulder and hip that matched the subtle detailing on her dress. Exquisite! Meanwhile, another Hollywood icon Halle Berry looked phenomenal with a bronzed trio of corsages (and two on her thigh) on her simple, white-Grecian goddess-inspired gown. She looked undeniably effortless.

Of course, suits were the go-to places for corsages to rest, with Paul Mescal looking dapper in his ensemble and Women Talking director Sarah Polley looking super cool in her monochrome suit. So, why not take fashion inspo from the following celebrities, who prove you don’t need a prom date to wear a corsage?
