Couple who got ‘trolled’ after Parklife engagement given free honeymoon

A couple who were targeted by online “trolls” after getting engaged on stage at a music festival have been offered a free honeymoon by the event’s organisers.

Myles Goodfellow, 25, and Indy Geraghty, 23, got engaged in front of thousands of festival goers during rapper Yung Filly’s set at Parklife on Saturday, June 11.

Indy, from Galashiels, called the moment “one of the happiest days of my life”.

She told STV News: “When we arrived, I was told by Myles and his friend that we had a surprise meet and greet with Yung Filly behind stage before his set so I wouldn’t get suspicious with anything.

Indy said the engagement was one of the
Indy said the engagement was one of the “happiest moments of her life”.

“We watched him perform a few songs and before I knew it Myles had grabbed my hand and took me out. I was so confused but soon came to realise what was going on.

“I just cried and cried, I was so overwhelmed with everything, but it was definitely something I will never forget and one of the happiest days of my life.

“It may be an odd way to do it for some people but I wouldn’t never change how it happened.”

After sharing the memorable moment on social media, the couple were targeted with messages of abuse from internet trolls after the footage went viral.

The couple got engaged in front of thousands at Parklife music festival.

Organiser of the Manchester music festival, Sacha Lord, found out about the couple’s plight and reached out to them the following day.

The couple were stunned when he offered to pay for the pair’s honeymoon, as well as offering free entry to Parklife “for life”.

Indy said she “couldn’t believe” when the festival boss reached out and offered to pay for the getaway, which has yet to be planned.

She added: “I woke up in the morning and had a lot of bad comments about where it was and how it was done, and people just saying how young we were etc.

“It was sad to see at first but eventually I just stopped reading them.

“Sacha phoned me the day after it happened and reassured me that the trolls were not worth it.

“He made me feel so much better, and then offered us free entry for the rest of our lives and a honeymoon.

“I was so emotional when he reached out.

“It really was such a kind gesture and I couldn’t believe it.”
