Cricket fans have been left in stitches following a batsman’s very unique dismissal.
During the ongoing European Cricket Series (ECS) T10 tournament, a Cyprus batter was sent back to the pavilion in such a strange way, that the clip went viral on social media.
The cricketer stood leg-side of the ball and looked to play a lap shot in an attempt to clear the fine leg boundary.
The Cyprus batsman was unable to time the ball correctly and connected with the edge of the bat.
As a result, the ball ricocheted off the helmet of the wicketkeeper who was up to the stumps, and it flew into the air.

Fans were in hysterics after watching the clip online and were truly amazed by what they had witnessed.
“Best exit of the cricketing year”, one fan wrote, before another added: “How unlucky” alongside a laughing emoji.
The commentators were stunned by what they had seen as they yelped with excitement.
“Oooo, this is…this it out, it’s out! It’s come off the keeper’s helmet I think, I’ve never seen this before!,” they said.
