Man United’s Cristiano Ronaldo turned down some of the top clubs in the Premier League to move to Old Trafford, but another player is now demanding the same pay as him

Manchester United beat top clubs from across Europe to the signature of Cristiano Ronaldo – twice.
The Portuguese forward was one of the hottest properties in world football when he burst onto the scene with Sporting Lisbon, and the Red Devils also beat bitter rivals Man City to his signature last summer.
But his arrival has not been well received by all at Old Trafford, with one star now reportedly demanding the club make him their top earner in hope of a lucrative new deal.
And with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer coming under increasing pressure in the United hotseat, his reported expectations have now been revealed as he waits to find out if he will still have a job after the international break.

Ronaldo transfer decision
Ronaldo first caught the eye of Europe’s elite when he was at Sporting Lisbon and it wasn’t long before the Premier League’s traditional big three – Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal – were all fighting over him.
Gerard Houllier was in charge of Liverpool at the time when he and Phil Thompson believed they had secured Ronaldo’s signature.
Thompson went for dinner with football agent Tony Henry in Lisbon in 2003, where the pair thrashed out the finer details of a £4million transfer for Ronaldo.
He’s now revealed all about the transfer discussions – and how Liverpool found out the forward had actually signed a deal taking him to Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ‘waiting to be sacked’
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly waiting to be sacked amid claims it’s a case of when not if for the Manchester United boss.
The Red Devils have been on a poor run of form and have slipped to sixth in the Premier League following defeats by bitter rivals Liverpool and Manchester City.
Solskjaer is believed to have the backing of the Red Devils board.
But the Norwegian is rapidly losing the support of Man United fans and there are reports that the dressing room is also starting to turn on the Red Devils boss.
And according to The Sun, the Norwegian could be sacked.

Paul Pogba’s contract demands
Pogba, 28 is out of contract next summer and is embroiled in a lengthy stalemate with the Old Trafford hierarchy over extending his stay.
Mirror Football understands United chiefs want to resolve the situation before the January transfer window, when Pogba will be free to enter talks with foreign clubs.
And now a source close to the player told L’Equipe he will agree to new terms so long as these make him the highest earner in the Premier League.
This will require the Red Devils to hand Pogba a deal worth in excess of £500,000 per week, which is veteran superstar Ronaldo’s current salary.
