The 26-year-old has been on the fringe of the Chelsea first team since making his senior debut eight years ago and remains in that same situation under Thomas Tuchel.
Loftus-Cheek is certainly not out of contention under the German, making 40 appearances in all competitions last season, but only managing 13 starts in the Premier League and he didn’t score a single league goal.
The Sun report that Palace are looking to tempt him to Selhurst Park with the offer of much more regular game time, just like he got last time he joined the Eagles on loan.
The England international spent the 2017/18 season on loan at Palace, making 24 Premier League appearances, 21 of which were in the starting XI and turning in performances good enough to get into the England squad for the World Cup that summer.
Crystal Palace had Conor Gallagher on loan from Chelsea last season to great success so it is certainly a well trodden path from Stamford Bridge to Selhurst Park, but it is yet to be seen whether Tuchel wants to let Loftus-Cheek go and if the player is interested in the move.
The Sun’s report states that Eagles boss Patrick Vieira is keen on Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White and expected to get hold of the 22-year-old for around £20m this summer.
However, the deal is proving much more difficult to progress than expected, so they have turned their attentions to the man they had on loan four years ago.
