The IPL 2023 Final will be played on Sunday (May 28) at GT’s home ground Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, and there are massive expectations already.

Gujarat Titans have played in a fantastic manner this season. They topped the group stage with 20 points and played the Qualifier 1 against CSK. Despite losing that match, GT have booked their final berth with a win over Mumbai Indians in the Qualifier 2 on Friday (May 26).
The elite class of the Titans team has powered them so far, and Hardik Pandya will be hoping they cross the final hurdle against one of the stalwarts of IPL in MS Dhoni.
As GT prepare for the grand finale, there will be some added impetus which will further propel and invigorate them. Here we take a look at three potential records which the Titans can create if they lift the trophy this year.
GT can become the joint third-best team in IPL history
If Gujarat Titans win the final, they will become the joint-third-best team in IPL’s history in only their second season.
A victory will ensure their second title, which is the same as Kolkata Knight Riders, who have two trophies in their name. Only Chennai Super Kings (4) and Mumbai Indians (5) will be ahead of them in the list.
GT can join Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in Elite List
If GT win IPL 2023, they will also share the same status with Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in a unique list.
A win on Sunday will mean GT are only the third team in history to successfully defend their IPL title and win it twice in a row. CSK did it in 2010 and 2011, whereas MI achieved it in the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Gujarat Titans bowling trio on the verge of history
It promises to be a magical night if GT can lift the title in front of their home supporters on Sunday (May 28). But it can be another monumental record for the franchise in terms of more personal terms.
If GT win the title, three of their bowlers will be finishing as the top three in the Purple Cap list as the most wicket-takers in the tournament. Rashid Khan (28), Mohammed Shami (27) and Mohit Sharma (24) currently occupy the top three spots in the Purple Cap list.
This will be the first time a champion team consisting of three leading wicket-takers in the tournament in IPL.

CSK pacer Tushar Deshpande (21) will need to pick up 4 wickets and hope Mohit Sharma goes wicketless to claim a podium spot. CSK’s left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja (19) needs six, whereas their Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana (17) will have to create an IPL record 8 wickets to breach the gap.
