Teens wanted for Safe Routes group

Cupertino Safe Routes to School (SR2S) is recruiting students who will be in high school next year to serve on the SR2S Working Group and foster sustainable transportation at their campus.

Teens in the group will be tasked with developing ideas about how to encourage fellow students to ditch the car drop-off line in favor of walking, biking, taking transit or carpooling. They’ll also address the transportation challenges of people in wheelchairs.

This group is made up of Cupertino city staff, school staff, district administrators, parents, and community organizers, as well as two student representatives from each of the city’s high schools. Five of the six current SR2S high school student representatives are graduating this year—two at Monta Vista High, two at Homestead High and one at Cupertino High.

Apply by Sunday, April 30 at cupertino.org/saferoutes/hsrep.
