The Milwaukee Bucks ended the regular season with the best record in the NBA but lost to the Miami Heat in the first round.
The result of the shocking upset? Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer was relieved of his duties despite leading his team to a 2020 NBA championship victory.
Budenholzer joins Dwane Casey and Nick Nurse as coaches to be fired years after leading their teams to NBA titles.
Portland Trailblazers All-NBA guard Damian Lillard took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the situation.
“Folks out here firing championship coaches as soon as they don’t win the chip …” he wrote.

Even though the coaches were fired for not meeting expectations that season, they still deserve credit for bringing an NBA Championship to the franchise.
Bucks fans will always love Budenholzer, but the organization thought it was time to move on.
Cold world.
