Damian Lillard fueled the trade-rumor fires with an Instagram live video on Friday night.

The superstar point guard logged on while listening to Will Smith’s song “Miami,” and the 45-second clip sent the NBA world into a frenzy.

Many wondered if this means Lillard could be pushing for a trade to the Miami Heat.

On Thursday night, the Portland Trail Blazers selected Scoot Henderson with the No. 3 overall pick in the NBA Draft. Earlier this year, reports suggested that Lillard wanted to add a “win-now” veteran piece instead of a longterm prospect.

So, could Lillard really want out of Portland?

Maybe. But according to his agent, Aaron Goodwin, this viral clip has nothing to do with Lillard’s NBA future.

“The music was just a coincidence,” Goodwin told The Athletic. “Damian’s not disrespectful. He’s not an instigator, so he’s not going to do anything out of character. There would be no reason for him to do that. That’s why he laughed (in the video). It’s a funny coincidence that a DJ would put that on.”

If this song was indeed a coincidence, it’s a pretty hilarious one. Earlier this year, Dame expressed interest in joining the Heat when going over hypothetical trade scenarios on Brian Custer’s The Last Stand podcast.
