Daredevil: Born Again and Penguin shoots halted amid ongoing writers’ strike in America

Collin Farrell, who headlines Penguin, was recently seen at The Writers Guild Of America picket line outside of Paramount in Times Square. As per Variety, he said, “Writers are everything to us.” He also said that there would be some resolution because of “the stare-down going on is so f**king boring,” and the strike by the writers is “a testament to the arrogance of those at the top that these people are now out of work and can’t because they are doing the right thing.”

The upcoming series is expected to explore the origins of Farrell’s Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot and his rise to prominence as the head of a criminal empire once he ascends to power at the end of Matt Reeves’ The Batman.

Daredevil: Born Again will run through 18 episodes and debut in Spring 2024 on Disney+. After a quick cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and a comedic yet charismatic return in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Charlie Cox will be returning to his infamous character for Disney but for a less gory portrayal this time since the series moves from Netflix to Disney+
