Dark Horse brings FAFHRD AND THE GRAY MOUSER adaptation back to print in new omnibus

Dark Horse has announced that they are bringing the comics adaptations of fantasy author Fritz Leiber‘s iconic Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser stories back to print in a new omnibus collection. Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser Omnibus will include stories from comics luminaries like Dennis O’Neil, Mike Mignola, Howard Chaykin, Walter Simonson, and Jim Starlin.

This new omnibus edition collects Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser and Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser: the Cloud of Hate and Other Stories by comics legends Howard Chaykin, Mike Mignola, Dennis O’Neil, Walter Simonson, and Jim Starlin, and includes the Hugo and Nebula Award winning “Ill Met in Lankhmar” by Chaykin, Mignola, and Sherrilyn Van Valkenburgh. Join the hulking barbarian and the diminutive rogue as they battle swordsmen, necromancers, and flagons of strong drink!

For nearly fifty years Leiber penned stories starring the new omnibus’s title characters, which became the author’s best-known work. Dark Horse has previously released two paperback collections in 2007 and 2016 of comics stories featuring Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser, which themselves collected tales originally published by DC Comics and Epic Comics in the ’70s and ’90s, respectively. The new omnibus edition marks the first time all of the previously-published stories featuring the characters have been collected in one volume.

With a cover price of $29.99, Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser Omnibus is due out from Dark Horse Books in comic shops on Wednesday, June 14th, 2023, and in bookstores on Tuesday, June 27th, 2023.
