The deadline for bids to be submitted is this Friday, with United expecting at least four ‘serious’ offers to be made.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the richest man in Britain, is the only person to go public with his intention to bid for the club.
However, there is interest from Qatar, America and Saudi Arabia, while other bids cannot be ruled out.
The Raine Group, who were hired to oversee Chelsea’s sale by Roman Abramovich last year, are controlling the process of United’s takeover.
Though just one interested party has gone public, it’s expected that once the bids go in that more parties will come forward.
At that point, it could become a ‘PR war’ as interested parties look to use every weapon in their armoury.
One tactic often used is to gain the support of a club legend and the Telegraph say Beckham has been approached by several parties to throw his support behind a bid.
Beckham has taken strides into football investment by buying Inter Miami and investing in Salford City.
After the Glazer family announced that the club was up for sale, Beckham intimated he would be interested in being involved in any takeover bid.
However, the report says Beckham has rejected offers to get involved and has even rejected offers from Qatar.
Beckham is an official ambassador for the country and his involvement in promoting the World Cup in 2022 was widely criticised.
