David Tennant shocked BAFTA viewers by revealing he had never been nominated for one of their awards.
The Doctor Who star, 52, appeared on stage to present the features award alongside his co-star Catherine Tate.
In a skit at the beginning of the presentation, the pair called out Bafta for not giving either of them a gong throughout their esteemed careers.
Arriving on stage, the pair both jested that while they were presenting, neither had won before, with Tate asking: “How many times have you been nominated for a Bafta and never won.”
“Never. None times. Zero,” Tennant declared, causing Tate – who’s had six nods in her career – to awkwardly cringe next to him.
Tate added: “I don’t know what’s worse, being nominated six times and never winning or never being nominated.”
Tennant said it was “much, much worse” never being nominated, causing Tate to admit: “Yeah, it is pretty bad.”
Viewers watching at home were left stunned by the revelation – particularly considering Tennant has been in some of the UK’s most loved dramas in his career.
On top of his long stint on Doctor Who, he was also a key role in Broadchurch, Des, Staged, Litvinenko and Inside Man.
However, he has always been snubbed by Bafta come awards season – and fans are demanding that to change on Twitter

“Wait… Tennant wasn’t nominated for Des?” said @paulkleinyoo.
While @LizTheFrizz wrote: “David Tennant has NEVER been nominated for a #BAFTA?!” alongside a GIF of him in character in Doctor Who simply saying: “What?!”
