French dance group Les Sancho failed to impress Simon Cowell on the latest instalment of Britain’s Got Talent. Simon even buzzed the act midway through their performance after the group failed to live up to his high expectations. However, fellow judge David Walliams hit out at Simon after he criticised the group’s performance which almost caused Simon to leave the panel.

Following Les Sancho’s routine on the live ITV show, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly asked what “Mr Grumpy” thought about the act.

Addressing the group, Simon replied: “I buzzed you, I’ll tell you why, it’s because I loved your first audition because it was all about fun.”

As the crowd continued to jeer and boo, Simon told them to “shut up” so he could deliver his critique.

He added: “[I want] fun, personality, surprises, this was everything I have seen before with a dance group but at other times it was better.

They will be joining singer Maxwell Thorpe and ventriloquist Jamie Leahey in Sunday’s grand final.

Other acts who have landed a place in the final are impressionist Ben Nickless and musical duo Flintz & T4ylor.

Simon did hint there could be “one or even two wild cards” used to bring back some performers who had been voted off.
