The Atlantic 10 No. 1 seed, the VCU Rams, will get its tournament underway on Thursday when they take on the No. 8 Davidson Wildcats.

Davidson took down No. 9 St. Bonaventure on Wednesday by a final score of 65-54, but now have a tough test ahead of them in VCU.

VCU ended the season on a 6-0 run, and the Rams beat the Wildcats in both of their regular season meetings.

Live dive into the odds for this A10 Tournament matchup.

Davidson vs. VCU odds, spread, and total

Davidson vs. VCU prediction and pick

VCU is the best team in the Atlantic 10 and I think the Rams are going to win and cover in this spot.

VCU has a massive defensive advantage in this matchup, coming in as one of the best defensive teams in the country. The Rams rank fifth in defensive efficiency, compared to Davidson who comes at 203rd.

VCU does have a weakness and it may come back to haunt it at some point in this tournament. That weak point is turnovers, where they rank 290th in turnovers per possession. With that being said, it shouldn’t be an issue for them in this matchup due to Davidson’s inability to force turnovers.

Davidson ranks 235th in opponent turnovers per possession, so the Wildcats may not be able to capitalize on VCU’s turnover issues.

I’ll back VCU to win and cover in this spot and advance to the next round.

Pick: VCU -5.5
