Kolkata, on the other hand, have lost three of their five matches. They are placed seventh in the table. The Nitish Rana-led side has also lost their last two matches. Mumbai Indians (MI) handed them a five wicket defeat after chasing 186 in just 17.4 overs.
As the two teams gear up to clash against each other for the first time in the IPL 2023, let’s have a look at four players who can score most runs in the match.
Prithvi Shaw: The opener’s horror run in the IPL 2023 season has extended to five matches now. So far, he has scored 34 runs at an average of 6.80 and a strike rate of 117.24. One of the biggest stars of the DC batting unit would be desperately aiming to get back among runs.
Shaw has a very good record against Kolkata, he has scored 392 runs in eight matches at an average of 49 and a strike rate of 170.43. 43 fours and 17 sixes have come off Shaw’s bat against KKR.
Manish Pandey: The middle-order batter smashed a fifty for Delhi against RCB in the last match. He has played three matches and scored 76 runs at an average of 25.33 and a strike rate of 133.33. His run tally is third-highest for Delhi. His strike rate is second-highest for a DC batter with more than 50 runs.
The 33-year-old has scored 256 runs in 12 matches at an average of 28.44 against KKR. He has hit 21 fours and seven sixes against them.
Nitish Rana: Local boy Nitish Rana will be leading KKR for the first time at his domestic home ground. Rana, who represents Delhi in domestic cricket, has a vast experience of playing at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
The batter has also shown some great form this season. In the five matches he has played so far, the 29-year-old has scored 150 runs at an average of 30 and a strike rate of 147.05.
He has scored 377 runs in 14 matches at an average of 34.27 and a strike rate of 146.12 against Delhi in IPL.
Rinku Singh: There is not a more in-form KKR batter than Rinku Singh at the moment. He would be expected to score big once again. So far in the IPL 2023, the southpaw has scored 174 runs in five matches at an average of 58 and a strike rate of 162.61.
The 25-year-old has played just one match against Delhi. He scored 23 runs off 16 balls in that match. Overall, he has featured in 80 T20 matches and scored 1468 runs at an average of 27.69 and a strike rate of 140.47.
