Tourists heading to a scenic location in Bali have been urged to keep their distance, with waves in the area known to be deadly.
In a viral TikTok video, Bali visitors are warned against heading to the scenic infinity pool known as Angel Billabong in Nusa Penida due to the size of waves known to come crashing down.
The spot lures people in with crystal clear waters nestled between rocks, but the video explains waves can come crashing through the area, knocking people off their feet.
“The most beautiful and peaceful place,” the video explains.
“Can also be the most dangerous ones!”
The video shows a giant wave crashing over the rocks, with water shooting across the air sending nearby tourists into a panic.
People are seen falling to the ground as the water hits them.
“Who would have thought that Angel’s Billabong, which is as calm and beautiful as this, is also potentially dangerous?” the video’s caption reads.
“Always be vigilant and follow your guide’s directions.”
Several tourists have lost their lives at the location over the years, including a 46-year-old Chinese woman killed while taking a selfie in 2018.
A year prior, a 23-year-old New Zealand went missing in the area after his German partner was swept into the water.
In 2016, Perth man Brad Williams lost his wife Lestari and their eight-year-old daughter after the three were walking along the rocks and were swept out to sea.
Mr Williams was the only survivor of the trio.
