Deadpool 3 Will Bring Back Morena Baccarin as Vanessa & Stefan Kapičić as Colossus

The highly anticipated Deadpool sequel, Deadpool 3, will bring back both Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapičić as Vanessa and the X-Men member Colossus, Deadline has confirmed. They will join both Ryan Reynolds, who is all set to once again lead the project as Wade Wilson aka Deadpool and Hugh Jackman, who will make a surprise return as X-Men fan-favorite, Wolverine.

The news comes not long after Morena Baccarin cast doubt on the return of Vanessa, who was controversially “fridged” at the beginning of 2018’s Deadpool 2 before being brought back to life at the end. “What is up with Deadpool 3? That’s a really good question,” Baccarin said earlier this month. “I have to be very diplomatic about what I say here. I’d like to be in it. They have called me about being in it. Right now, we have not agreed on terms, and everybody’s trying their best, and doing their best. But, it may or may not work out, I don’t know.”

Clearly, terms have since been met, with the return of both Vanessa and Colossus, who made his Deadpool debut in the first outing courtesy of the voice of Stefan Kapičić, the physicality of Andre Tricoteux, and performance capture, providing some consistency to the franchise as it makes its way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Directed by Shawn Levy and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, Baccarin and Kapičić will also join the likes of Karan Soni and Leslie Uggams, who will reprise their respective roles as Deadpool’s best pals, Dopinder and Blind Al. The Crown star Emma Corrin will reportedly portray the villain of the piece, with Succession actor Matthew Macfadyen recently joining the cast.

What is Deadpool 3 All About?

The plot of Deadpool 3 remains under wraps, with a recent synopsis (in typical Deadpool style) irritatingly offering absolutely nothing. “Another chapter in the raunchy, violent, and of course, hilarious Deadpool series,” the synopsis reads. While story details for Deadpool 3 remain largely under wraps, it is now hotly rumored that the Marvel threequel will follow Wade Wilson and Logan as they embark on a road trip. A plot outline that Ryan Reynolds revealed to us all some time ago. “It’s critical to have open, honest and healthy discussions around mental health. By retweeting #BellLetsTalk you can make a difference. In case that’s not enough, before Disney bought Fox, Deadpool 3 was gonna be a road trip between Deadpool and Logan. Rashomon style. For real,” the actor said via social media upon Disney acquiring 20th Century Fox.

Many now expect that Deadpool 3 will include the multiverse and the TVA in some capacity, with Hugh Jackman adding fuel to this fire by revealing that he will play a “dual role” in the threequel. So, will we see different versions of Wolverine and Deadpool? Or maybe Deadpool will finally get to meet the real Hugh Jackman? Only time will tell…

Deadpool 3 is scheduled to be released on November 8, 2024, as part of Phase Six of the MCU.
