What kind of tumble dryer should I buy this Black Friday?

A big part of getting the best deal on Black Friday is doing your research, so you need to figure out what kind of tumble dryer you’re looking for in the sale, as well as the drum capacity you need and any extras such as sensor drying.

There are three main types of tumble dryers to choose from – condenser, heat pump, or vented.

Condenser: A condenser tumble dryer is ideal if you can’t vent the moisture from a hose as it stores it in a removable tank, but you will have to remember to empty the tank after each cycle. Condenser models are great for smaller houses or those who don’t want their dryer to have to be professionally installed.

Heat pump: Heat pump tumble dryers are highly efficient as they recycle hot air from inside the drum to dry clothes. While this is energy efficient, the programmes take a bit longer to dry your clothes.

Vented: Vented tumble dryers feed the moisture from your clothes through an outside vent by using a long hose. These kinds of dryers are usually the cheapest but tend to have a low energy rating which may mean higher energy bills.
