Ralf Little joined Death in Paradise in series nine as DI Neville Parker, and he is the longest-running detective to star in the BBC drama.

Earlier this year, the actor confirmed he would be reprising his role for series 13, and Ralf has teased fans further with an exciting filming update.

Taking to social media, Ralf did an Instagram live where he answered some of his follower’s questions.

In doing so, the Neville Parker star addressed his and his co-star’s futures on the show, explaining the entire cast were back.

When asked “Who is back in the series?”, Ralf shared: “Everyone, we are all here, the whole gang.”

“Darlene, Naomi, Marlon, Neville, Selwyn and Catherine, we are all here,” he continued.

“I arrived last Wednesday on the island and have done lots of things like setting the house up, moving everything in.

“Getting over to the supermarket to buy essentials for the past six months, like salad cream and baked beans and I couldn’t find either of them.

“It is so devastating I don’t know how I will cope.”

“It has been a busy few days,” he added. “Costume fittings, we have a costume fitting every year for new stuff.”

The actor went on to admit he begged producers to let him keep his beard for the show, explaining he would have to shave it off for filming.

When quizzed on whether Ralf would be filming the entire series, he confirmed: “I am doing the full series, I don’t think that’s giving too much away.

“The eight episodes and the Christmas special as always. I don’t know what is going to happen in the series yet, I have only got the first script.”

Addressing whether Neville’s love interest Sophie (Chelsea Edge) could return in series 13, Ralf admitted he wasn’t sure.

“Honestly I have no idea,” the actor added. “I wouldn’t be able to tell you if I did know.

“If I did know I would say I knew but I wouldn’t be able to tell you.”

In series 12, Sophie ended up framing Neville for murder, which put the detective’s future in doubt.

However, even from his jail cell, Neville was able to solve the crime which set him free.

Death in Paradise is available to watch on BBC iPlayer and BritBox.
