Declan Rice remains keen on a move to Arsenal despite receiving interest from Manchester City, according to reports.
Mikel Arteta has made Rice one of his priority targets for the summer window but Arsenal have been unable to reach an agreement with West Ham.
The Gunners have seen two bids rejected so far, the latest of which is £75 million up front plus a further £15m in add-ons which falls short of West Ham’s £100m valuation.
City have now expressed a strong interest in signing Rice and are expected to submit a rival offer to Arsenal’s, although the Premier League champions are seeking assurances from the midfielder that he is not holding out for a move to Arteta’s side.
However, MailOnline reports that Rice is still looking to join Arsenal this summer, even after City’s interest was made known.
The report also claims that Arsenal are now preparing a third bid which will go closer to matching West Ham’s £100m valuation.
Arsenal are also on the brink of completing their £65m deal to sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea.
The Germany international has already undergone some of his medical tests with Arsenal and has agreed a five-year contract.
Arsenal are also expecting to reach an agreement with Ajax to sign Jurrien Timber and have submitted an improved offer after their initial bid was rejected last week.
