While many travel expenses have increased lately due to increasing traffic volumes, booking vacation packages with Delta SkyMiles is getting more affordable. Your airline miles can be 15% more valuable than in 2022 for similar packages booked on Delta Vacations.

What is Delta Vacations?

Delta Vacations allows SkyMiles members to book flight, hotel and car rental packages with cash or miles. This platform recently went under a redesign allowing miles to be worth more on redemptions. Additionally, SkyMiles members can have an easier time making reservations as the booking portal is easier to navigate. It’s possible to book domestic or international trips.

SkyMiles Are Worth 15% More

SkyMiles are now worth 15% more than before July 10, 2023, to any vacation package destination. The airline serves over 300 destinations in 60 countries. As a result of the changes, each SkyMiles can now be worth 1.15 cents on Delta Vacations instead of the previous redemption rate of 1 cent per mile.

This 15% redemption boost went into effect for bookings made on or after July 10, 2023.

Customers can redeem up to 999,999 miles per package booked online or by calling the airline’s Customer Engagement Center. Members wishing to redeem at least one million SkyMiles at a time should call to finalize their travel itinerary.

You are also able to pay with a combination of cash and miles. The mileage redemption value can be more valuable than booking points directly through the hotel or as a hotel statement credit.

Earn SkyMiles Elite Status Sooner

Delta Vacations bookings can also help members qualify for SkyMiles Medallion elite status sooner. Qualifying itineraries can earn miles and MQDs based on a percentage of the flight distance. Exception fares can also net MQDs.

The number of miles you can earn per person depends on the package value:

• 1,000 bonus miles per person on bookings of $4,999 or less
• 5,000 bonus miles per person on bookings from $5,000 to $9,999
• 10,000 bonus miles per person on bookings above $10,000

Previously, bookings between $5,000 and $9,999 earned 2,000 SkyMiles per person, and bookings of $10,000 or more accumulated 5,000 bonus miles per person.
